Vietnamese textile products will be more available on Amazon’s global e-commerce channel the next time. Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) has signed a partnership with Amazon Global Selling to promote Vietnamese businesses have chances to build their brands in the international market.

In the current context, although Vietnam’s textile ranks in the top 3 of the world’s leading exporting countries and the EU’s 28 member countries imported Vietnam’s textile and garment products, most of Vietnam’s export textile products are CTM and brands of foreign countries. If Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises want to export their products to the European Union (EU) and the US, they have to go through intermediaries and pay fees to do. This is the traditional way of exporting.

Nowadays, the strong development of e-commerce brings great opportunities for textile businesses to sell products directly through Amazon, Alibaba, eBay .etc. If made-in-Vietnam textile products are changed traditional selling method to through Amazon, it will help cut costs and increase their competitiveness strongly. This is also a good opportunity for Vietnam branding. There is a fact that the quality of Vietnam’s textile and garment products are well assessed by importers combine with the affordable prices, meeting the requirements of consumers in many markets. However, we did not promote much for Vietnamese brands.

Foreseeing this, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) has signed a partnership with Amazon Global Selling that expected Vietnamese businesses to have chances to build their brands in the international market. Selling products on Amazon is the best way for businesses to reach millions of customers quickly and effectively. If businesses choose to sell through e-commerce channels, it will significantly reduce the paid cost of intermediaries compare with the current traditional way of exporting. Besides, product lines were sold through Amazon also more varied.

Amazon representative said that in the next 9 years, by selling global products directly, Vietnam can have 30 world-class textile brands. However, the challenge for Vietnam businesses is how to change the familiar sales method from B2B to B2C.
