Job Description

• You will be involved in every aspect of creating exciting women’s wear and young fashion garments, across Tailoring & Outerwear reporting to head of Design.
• Creating trend and mood boards
• Prepare Design Specification Sheets
• Liaise with merchandisers, pattern makers and sample and making sure that the samples are made correctly
• Creating/visualizing an idea and producing a design by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD);
• Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colours and shapes in order to apply knowledge of latest key items
• Planning and developing ranges;working with others in the design team, such as buyers and forecasters, to develop product to meet a brief;
• Liaising closely with sales, customers and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure the item suits the customer, market and price points;
• Understanding design from a technical perspective, i.e. producing patterns, toiles and technical specifications for designs;
• Sourcing and selecting newness when required. E.g fabrics, special trims, new fastenings and new embellishments;
• Adapting existing designs for mass production;developing a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervising the creation of these, including fitting, detailing and adaptations

Job Requirements

• Diploma holder in Fashion Design or related discipline
• More than 3 years’ experience in fashion industry; especially prefer worked in High Street in UK, in Europe, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam…
• Have an understanding of fabrics
• Knowledge in seasonal trends
• Can communicate ideas to machinist and pattern cutters
• Experience working alongside sales
• Creative, stylish, self-motivated, responsible, independent & able to work in tight schedule
• Good skills in using design software such as: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop etc.
• Able to hand sketch
• Strong fashion trend, new materials, fabrics & market sense.
• Passionate & Enthusiastic for design with a very commercial handwriting.
• Good command of spoken and written English
