Manage and lead the product development team in delivering the seasonal product strategy
Ensure products are developed to high standards
Manage product development costs to deliver target margin
Ownership of product sign off ensuring that no changes are made to products post sign-off
Own delivery of the critical path of each range of products for the season adhering to development timetable to deliver the products to market on time
Ensuring all products achieve fit and quality requirements and have relevant sign-off for fit
Work with team to build the range and ensure accurate and timely development and commercialisation of all product
Work with Materials Manager to ensure that all materials are utilised appropriately
Maintain up to date and accurate development information in the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
Follow business processes for the development of ranges, managing information and identify appropriate improvements in process and communication where needed
Ensuring sufficient, and technically capable, resource is available throughout the development cycle and new constructions and new materials are adequately managed
Continually update and improve the quality of product fit; including internal quality process

Experienced footwear Product Developer with experience of R&D and innovation
Significant footwear and shoemaking experience – constructions, materials, cost components, etc.
Full understanding of product costing process
Challenge and continuously seek improvement – e.g. in design, in shoe technology
Instinctive recognition of good and bad aesthetic appeal of a prototype shoe to its target consumer; particularly last shape and material
Tenacity to make sure that new designs are 100% right
Ability to work effectively with people from different countries
Demonstrated ability to conceive/create new thinking and ideas pertaining to the product and process
Ability to create consensus and work cooperatively with a team
Ability to travel when required during the development season
A design background and people management experience would be beneficial
